C-Tech’s relationship with HCCC began over 5 years ago when the College became a C-Tech Certified Training Facility. Early last year the College and C-Tech began a collaborative effort to train displaced workers at a Local of the United Auto Workers and offer them HCCC Continuing Education Credit(CEU) as well as multiple Industry-Recognized Certificates from a single source.
Hudson County Community College (HCCC) has again joined with C-Tech creating a national agreement offering a simplified and turnkey solution for states desiring to utilize their Youth Offender Grant monies to provide vocational skills. “By combining the educational resources of a leading College with an international developer of technology training, we can encourage, prepare and certify youth and others to acquire job skills for demand-driven occupations” stated Robert Rosa, Dean. This relationship assists State Correctional Education Agencies in meeting the funding qualifications for the Youth Offenders Programs (CFDA 84.331). “C-Tech can now offer a total solution consisting of proven short-term vocational training, college credits and industry recognized certification resulting in high placement and lower recidivism. This is just one more example of our effort to provide a one-stop service to our customers,” according to William Brady, President of C-Tech.
ABOUT HUDSON COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE
Hudson County Community College has come to be recognized as a valuable community asset where residents can receive a high quality education, at an affordable price, close to home. The College enjoys full and unrestricted general accreditation from the Middle States Association, and programs in nursing, culinary arts and technology have received specialized professional certifications.
The need for a community college in Hudson County was originally documented by feasibility studies supported by grants from the Exxon Education Foundation (1972) and the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (1973), which led to the establishment of the Hudson Higher Education Consortium.
The Center for Business and Industry has been established to provide contract training for county employers and local businesses. A recently established Division of Technology and Instructional Support Services is implementing ambitious plans to incorporate state-of-the-art technology into the classroom and workplace.
